Cool Mat

For this first project for a Korean street food restaurant based in Seoul, we’ll start by looking at a brief and translate it into a list of features that we can turn into code. We’ll then learn about how WordPress work, work through our page’s front-end and start to customise our theme, and make our site dynamic so that it can be updated from the dashboard, using custom post types. We'll also convert our site into Korean before putting it live with a custom domain.

Nomad Sun

We’ll start with a new project, Nomad Sun, a travel blog featuring the most beautiful places in the world. We'll dive into creating WordPress sites with multiple pages, rearrangeable content using components and styling using design systems. Then, we’ll explore responsive design systems, working with galleries, using functions, animating page transitions and optimising our websites for maximum performance.

Alter Ego

Starting on our third and final project, Alter Ego, we’ll lead with our client proposal and learn how to build an online shop using WooCommerce. We’ll also use Flywheel to develop and host our websites in a much quicker and easier fashion. We'll learn how to customize WooCommerce using hooks, actions and filters, then we’ll get our site accepting card payments using Stripe. For final touches, we’ll style our site using a UI sticker sheet, batch import products to save time, add contact forms and customise WooCommerce templates even further. And then we'll get our site online, working fast and fully secure.

Still not sure if learning to code is right for you? Take our free Plan, Design + Code Your First Website course or dive into our First Steps to Code guide.

All our course videos are taught using the SuperHi Editor, but you'll be able to apply everything you'll learn to a code editor of your choice. Many students go on to use other code editors, for example, if their workplace has an existing standard.

Our SuperHi Editor is designed with many smart features to help avoid wasted time looking for things like a typo or missing bracket (which is why we made it!), but the same code concepts apply to any editor.

Yes! You can use your own custom third-party domains and connect them to your sites built with our SuperHi Editor. Additionally, all SuperHi sites come with free SSL Certificates for added protection.
