We’ve teamed up with a group of awesome partners to offer our latest scholarship for Black + Latinx creatives
We're a code school who believes learning to code can be made easier—and that includes easier to access.
SuperHi’s mission is to outfit creative people with the tools they need to bring their work to the web. Our course includes 8 weeks of go-at-your-own-pace content, a mix of digital and physical materials, 1-on-1 mentorship, and an intelligent code editor to make and publish your work quickly and easily.
Who should apply?
Black and Latinx creatives looking for the tools they need to create websites from scratch and to work with other coders.
Most of our students work in the creative industries – designers, strategists, photographers and copywriters are the most common jobs amongst our students – but a creative job is not a prerequisite for this course. Emerging creatives, students, and those looking to make a career change or add a new skill are welcome to apply.
This scholarship is open to international applicants.
What you’ll need
A computer (Windows, Mac or Linux) with the latest version of Chrome installed and a broadband internet connection. That’s it!
Deadline: November 30th, 2017, 11:59pm ET
Winners will be selected by a blind review process, removing all personal and identifying information.

You don’t have to learn alone
Learning any new skill is difficult, especially if you’re trying to do it by yourself. As part of a course, you’ll have access to the help you need if you get stuck and reviews to help your code get stronger
It can be hard to learn best practices through Googling alone so every SuperHi project has a strong foundation that makes it easier to build upon. We also review your work to make sure everything is clean, maintainable and on track - no spaghetti code allowed!
We’re here to support you if you get stuck, either with any SuperHi project, any homework or even one of your very own self-initiated projects.
- Every video page has a Question and Answer to receive in-context answers quickly
- Get live Slack support — our team is distributed worldwide and we cover most hours of the day!
- Get 1-to-1 sessions via Skype or Hangouts with one of our expert instructors
- Request your own video tutorial – most of our videos are student requests
- Or drop us an email whenever you like!
At your pace, not ours
Our courses are designed with flexibility in mind. We know that people get busy with work or freelance, so if you don't finish a course in exactly the amount of time, that's cool, it will still be there for you. We never turn off access.
Dip in and out, or revisit them whenever you're ready to start learning again.

We publish free video tutorials every week, explaining the best techniques in digital design.
Mouse move glitch collage using HTML canvas
As seen on the Azab site (or when you win at Solitaire), it's fairly straight forward to create a glitch-style collage that draws the image again and again whenever your user moves their mouse. In this video, we build up how to make a site that has a HTML canvas slideshow that reveals each image on click and has a tweening movement.
How to turn any web page into an app with Nativefier
Sometimes it'd be nice to have an app instead of a browser tab for a web service, but that site may not have a native Mac or Windows app. Using Nativefier command line tool, we can make our own app in just a few minutes!
